The finished product far exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail and quality of the work were outstanding, but what impressed me just as much was the professionalism of the entire crew.Read full review
Serving Pompano Beach and all of Broward County
Pompano Beach stretches from the condo towers on North and South Ocean Boulevard to inland neighborhoods like Cresthaven and Palm Aire, and about two thirds of its homes are in buildings with two or more units. Most of the housing was built before 1980. The city is in Broward County, inside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone.

What is specific about homes and rules here, with the sources
About 65% of Pompano Beach's roughly 61,100 housing units are in buildings with two or more units, and 41% are in buildings with 20 or more units.
Single-family detached houses make up about 29% of homes.
About 67% of housing units were built before 1980, and the median home was built in 1974.
About 56% of occupied homes are owner-occupied.
The Town of Pompano was incorporated in 1908, and in 1947 it merged with a new municipality on the beach to become the City of Pompano Beach.
The city officially recognizes about 40 neighborhoods, from Palm Aire and Cresthaven to Harbor Village and Santa Barbara Shores.
The department works from the third floor of City Hall at 100 West Atlantic Boulevard and takes applications through its ePlan portal. It runs a "one permit" concept, where a single permit covers the trade work on a project, such as electrical and plumbing. Its HB 803 notice says the under-$7,500 exemption is for single-family homes only, and electrical work always needs a permit.

Possibly, but never the electrical part. The city says the exemption applies only to single-family homes, not duplexes, condos or apartments, and not to homes in flood zones A, AE, AH, AO, AR, A99, V or VE. Wiring and new circuits always need a standard permit regardless of cost. You file the Building Permit Exemption Request through the city's ePlan portal, with no fee, and it must be received before work begins.
Pompano Beach works on a "one permit" concept, where a single permit covers the different trade applications on a project, such as electrical and plumbing. The Building Department at City Hall, (954) 786-4670 or building@copbfl.com, can confirm what your project needs.
Your association, under its declaration. Section 718.113(3), Florida Statutes, bars a unit owner from doing anything in the unit that would adversely affect the safety or soundness of the common elements, and changes to common elements follow the declaration's procedure, or need approval from 75% of voting interests if it has none. The city keeps a contact list of homeowner and condo associations, including many Ocean Boulevard buildings.
